It is observed that the majority of underage students continue to drink alcohol despite drinking age laws. This change may place students at risk when returning to campus residents after consuming alcohol. The NCADD (National Association Against Drunk Driving) did a study exploring the how college students were returning to on-campus housing after attending off-campus parties and visiting bars, and the extent to which they place themselves at risk for alcohol-related traffic fatalities. The results conclude that that on any given weekend, one in 6 college students who attends a bar or a party away from their campus residence place themselves at risk for an alcohol related traffic fatality by either driving while intoxicated or riding with an intoxicated driver.
